Jennifer Henczel of Inspired Influencers created the 4 Month Focus Method
Did you feel a little (or a lot) overwhelmed this year?
A lot of people did.
Could it be you’re suffering from shiny object syndrome?
Turn your learning into action by focusing on ONE thing.
You see, every entrepreneur has a daily waterfall of ideas. It’s not difficult to have ideas. The hard part is committing to just ONE of them and seeing it through.
“For how long,” you ask. MINIMUM 4 months.
If you can’t commit to seeing one strategy, method, formula, blueprint or idea through for 4 months, then don’t say X doesn’t work. You haven’t earned the right to say it.
There’s no way for you to know if it works, unless you focus on it for 4 months minimum.
Don’t expect COMPLETE results from HALF-assed attention.
Every year at this time, I brainstorm, develop new programs and complete my plans for the year ahead. I always know it will take a lot of focus to make those plans happen. It’s not easy, but I always get it done.
I’ve been creating multiple streams of income for 20 years. I know what it takes to pull up your bootstraps and produce money from scratch, from a good idea, learning and focused implementation.
Whether you dream of having an online course, a signature coaching program, a quarterly retreat, or something else…
You have to be willing to give it your EXCLUSIVE attention for at least 4 months straight to see if it actually works.
My 4 month test is my observation after working with people, and seeing those who make it and those who don’t.
One fear I hear from people is, “What if I put in all that effort for 4 months and it doesn’t work.”
- First of all, you’ll either earn or learn.
- Second, nothing is static. Everything is going to require constant tweaking, updating and upgrading. So, give up the idea that you’re going to create something once and that’s it. It’s an ongoing process.
- Third, the guaranteed way to make sure things don’t work is to hop from thing to thing, never seeing any of them all the way through.
It’s hard work. It’s NOT a, “I tried it for 2 weeks, so I guess it doesn’t work” kind of thing. It’s also not a, “I created it, but nothing happened” kind of thing, either.
It means saying ‘no’ to a lot of shiny things, and saying ‘yes’ to ONE thing. THAT is the hard part.
But, guess what, you’ll be making room for new, better things!
Find out what it feels like to commit to something for 4 months straight.
It brings new opportunities you would have never known about otherwise. Trust the process.
You’ll find out all kinds of things about yourself, as well. Maybe you’ll realize that particular strategy is not for you. Okay, so then you’ll have a better idea of which strategy may work for you next.
But, no matter what, stick to it and watch what happens.
Are you willing to stick to ONE strategy for a minimum of 4 months?

P.S. Don’t get into a semantical argument about how many hours in the 4 months. Or whether your 4 months is the same as someone else’s 4 months. Stay in your lane. It’s about turning all your shiny object efforts and whatever’s holding you back, and directing that energy towards ONE thing. One idea. One strategy for 4 months. Whatever hours you put into your business now, use that time for 4 months straight, rather than hopping from thing to thing. You may need more than 4 months, but it’s only after 4 months that you’ll have the answers you’ve been seeking, one way or another. Don’t say things don’t work, or that it’s not working for you, unless you’ve been WORKING IT hard FULL ON for at least 4 months.
