I can now officially say, I’ve gone from Mill worker to international speaker! I spoke at and attended the “International Forum for Disability Management Conference” this week. I made so many valuable contacts and landed a number of future speaking gigs and other opportunities for raising awareness on this important issue. I’m so thrilled with the outcome!
There were hundreds of delegates, experts, doctors and senior government employees from 30 countries around the world, all discussing the challenges and innovations for workforce health. I was the only injured worker presenting, and I was told numerous times that my talk was the highlight of the conference.
My session was titled: “Disability Prevention: Navigating the road to recovery” and I was honoured to present with my brilliant representative Paul Petrie, a long time scholar and advocate on these topics.
Our co-presentation included an innovative approach to disability prevention that focuses on the supports needed for maximizing recovery, particularly for complex multiple disability conditions and “hidden” mental and psychological disabilities. It will speak directly to the theme: Overcoming key health barriers to successful work outcomes.
Thank you to my wife Jennifer for helping me get to this point, learning how to network effectively, and navigating every aspect of the industry.
Also, THANK YOU to all of YOU! The people who have supported me and my family through this journey by buying books, attending our events, and for all your encouragement.
My story is now going to take me around the world!

This is just one type of audience I speak to about my story. Guess what, you have a story too, and your story matters. Reach out to me to find out how we can help you 🙂
