Get seen and heard in as many places as possible
You want to increase your listenership and get more ears on your podcast, right?
Your podcast host distributes your feed to a number of podcast directories and aggregators , but not all. Some of them need you to manually submit it yourself. So, what you’ll do it Get your rss feed from your host
Go to each of the directories and search to see if you’re already in there.
If you’re not, then follow their instructions for submitting your rss link.
Remember, it’s your RSS link, not any other the other links associated with your podcast. See, for my 2 podcasts, mine look like this: https://womeninpodcasting.libsyn.com/rss
You only ever use that link to submit to podcast directories and aggregators. Never give out your rss feed link for any other reason.
If you I was to share my show with anyone, I give them the link to where all my show notes are, which is here: www.womeninpodcastins.show.
There are typically the main ones:
Apple Podcasts – when you start your podcast, you’ll quickly find out that you need to set up an Apple Podcasts Connect account and submit your rss feed to get your podcast listed there.
Google Podcasts – Similarly, you’ll have to open a Google Podcasts Manager account and submit your rss feed url there to be listed.
Amazon Podcasts – Login with our regular Amazon account.
Facebook – This is the link to instructions on how to add your podcast to your Facebook page.
IMDB – Cool! Add your podcast to IMDB!
Can you submit your rss feed to Youtube?
No. You can’t submit your podcast rss feed to youtube, but you can create an audiogram or video and upload it to your channel there for extra visibility. Include links to your actual podcast in the description.
Hey, 🙂 please subscribe to our Women in Podcasting channel over there, so we can get our url. Thank you!
Podcast Hosting
Your podcast will also be listed in your host’s directory. The host gives you your rss feed link and distributes your podcast to a bunch of directories, but not all of them. Everyone needs to host their podcast somewhere, and these are the main ones today:
Libsyn (highly recommended)
These are podcast directories where you can list your podcast. As above, your host may already distribute to some of these, but for any they don’t go ahead and submit your rss feed to them. Your host can provide you with your rss link:
